It's a charming adventure a la Indiana Jones, with the right ingredients of intrigue, violence and sex. The main character is a young naïve anthropologist who finds himself in the center of a quest for The Golden Dancer. Who is she? What is she? Where is she? You have to read until the end to get those answers. In the mean time, you find yourself liking and disliking Jonah, the main character. He's weak but attractive. He's a moron but a nice guy. Nice guy! That's his problem. He's living the adventure of a lifetime in a world where everybody else is meaner, stronger. Including the girls. All the way to the end you wish you could alter his fate. But you're just the reader... a virtual voyeur. What Joe Kilgore does successfully is to follow Alfred Hitchcock's formula, allowing the viewer (in this case the reader) to know what the characters don't know, empowering him in the process, but not letting him change the fate already predetermined in his writers' head. It's a good read that goes well with a glass of wine...with a twist.Product details
